Always shaping the future: the history of Ossett Brewery

July 2017 sees the first steps taken in the latest expansion of Ossett Brewery. Ceiling panels are being lifted, tanks re-located and pipework re-directed. It is not the first time the organisation has shrewdly invested to pre-empt or catch up with demand, but this time a phased 18-month programme of development will leave the brewery in a strong position for the future. More Exciting News For Ossett Brewery!!

You may remember in our previous post featuring the news of our snazzy re-brand, we mentioned that a major expansion would be occuring on the Ossett Brewery site......well we are now ready to share the details and give you more of an idea about this exciting new project!! The current brewery which produces the core Ossett range will be able to extend capacity by the construction of a brand new cold storage warehouse. July 2014 Seasonal Beers

This month sees the seventh of our 'World Cup of Hops' series. Each beer utilizes the same 4% abv pale malt base with a similar quantity of a single hop variety and the beer being names after that hop variety. The Armais hop originates from France and produces a moderate bitterness with floral & grassy characteristics. In addition to Aramis we have the long awaited return of Real Ale Revolution IPA (4.5% American style IPA), a single brew of Yorkshire Blonde Premium (4.5%) and American Pale (3.5% intensely aromatic  ale with a refreshing citrus character).

June 2014 Seasonal Beers

Due to major work to increase capacity at the brewery we lose a few brewdays in June. This means we have a limited range of seasonal beers for the month: RIO DE JA BEER-O! - 4% dry and lager coloured ale.  Generous quantities of English and American hops produces a bitter and refreshing beer with further dry hopping during conditioning giving an intense citrus aroma. Rio de ja Beer-O! is also available to Enterprise Houses via Junes 'On the dray' feature. May 2014 Seasonal Beers

This month see's a varied selection of new brews and old favourites available: MAJESTIC MILD 3.8% - A velvety smooth dark mild brewed to celebrate Camra's Month of Mild. Chocolate and coffee flavours from a blend of five different malts are complemented by a delicate hop finish from English First Gold hops. JUNGA 4% - The fifth in our immensely popular series of single hop beers. Customers seem to love comparing and contrasting the different flavours and aromas from each of the beers based on the same extra pale malt base. March 2014 Seasonal Brews

We're very excited about our latest 'World Cup of Hops' brew. 'Summit' is the forth in our series of experimental single hop beers for 2014. Each beer utilizes the same 4% extra pale malt base with a similar quantity of the hop the beer is named after. Summit is an American hop which gives an amazingly powerful Grapefruit aroma with a lingering citrus finish. We expect both brews of Summit to sell out very quickly. February 2014 Seasonal Beers

This month see's the second in our 2014 'World Cup of Hops' series - with a rare Slovenian hop variety called 'Dana'. Once again this 4% brew utilises extra pale malt and the single hop variety to help drinkers diffrentiate between a variety of hops from around the globe. In addition we also have a single brew of 'Silver Shadow'. A lager coloured, dry, bitter & citrusy 3.9% session bitter. February will also see a brew of the ever popular extra pale 4.2% 'Snowdrop'. January 2014 Seasonal Beers

The first of our 2014 'World Cup of Hops' series has been very well received. Each of the series utilizes the same 4% abv pale malt base with a similar quantity of a single hop variety. In this case the Australian Galaxy Hop provides a fruity aroma with a high level of bitterness. In January we will also have Treacle Stout, Premium Yorkshire Blonde and Silver Shadow available.
