Congratulations to The Hop Saltaire for scooping the award for Pub of the Year 2016 by Bradford CAMRA. The Bradford Branch of CAMRA will be attending this beautifully furbished bar and kitchen during the evening of Wednesday 4th May to present the award to General Manager, Paul Huntington. Congratulations to The Hop Saltaire for scooping the award for Pub of the Season Spring 2015 by Bradford CAMRA. The Bradford Branch of CAMRA will be attending this newly refurbished bar and kitchen on Wednesday at 7.30pm to present the award to General Manager, Sami Foster. The venue is housed in an historic old tramshed, situated in the world heritage site of Saltaire, delivering great food, real ale and live music throughout the year. The Flowerpot in Mirfield awarded Pub of the Year by CAMRA Heavy Woollen District

Congratulations to The Flowerpot in Mirfield for scooping the award for CAMRA Pub of the Year Heavy Woollen District. The Heavy Woollen Branch of CAMRA attended this marvellous community pub on Wednesday evening to present the award to landlord, Chris Osman. In addition to this the Ossett Brewery team invited local residents, family and friends to join them in celebrating this honorary achievement with live music and complimentary supper for everyone attending. Congratulations to Black Bull Liversedge

Congratulations to The Black Bull Liversedge on featuring in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide for a whopping 10 consecutive years. The Heavy Woollen Branch of CAMRA attended the busy community pub on Tuesday evening to present the award to landlady, Linda Rowley. This award is only issued to pubs that year on year produce consistency of excellence in their serving and keeping of Real Ale. The Black Bull was the first pub to be opened by Ossett Brewery back in May 2003. Since then the company has successfully expanded to 24 sites around Yorkshire. Wakefield CAMRA Beer Festival 2014

Once again the Ossett Brewery team ventured to the annual Wakefield CAMRA beer festival. This year the festival featured ‘Celtic Fringe’ beers along with local brewers and real ciders. All the beer was on top form and included beer from all four of our microbreweries.  Our stand out beer of the festival was Fernandes Black Voodoo. June Bradbury from Wakefield CAMRA joined Steve at Fernandes to brew our favourite chocolate orange stout, and to make it even more unique the voodoo heading for the festival was racked into a wooden cask. Sheffield CAMRA 40th Steel Beer Festival

Our micro-breweries picked up a couple of awards at the Steel City beer festival at Kelham Island:   GOLD award in BITTER category: Fernandes Brewery – Half Nelson GOLD award in BEST BITTER category: Rat Brewery – Ratweiller   Half Nelson also won SILVER and Ratweiller bronze in the OVERALL BEER of the FESTIVAL competition. Our congratulations to all the brewers involved.  

Huddersfield Oktoberfest Triumphs

We’re really chuffed our beers picked up a number of awards at the Hudderfield Camra Oktoberfest. The awards were voted for by the public out of 100+ beers: GOLD award in BITTER category: Riverhead Brewery – American IPA GOLD award in STOUT/PORTER category: Rat Brewery – Ratsputin (Russian Imperial Stout) GOLD award in SPECIALITY BEER category: Riverhead Brewery – Marzden (Bavarian Smoked Wheat Beer) BRONZE award in SPECIALITY BEER category: Fernandes – Czech Mate (German style Pilsner) The Rat Brewery 'Ratsputin' was matured in and served from a..
