You may remember in our previous post featuring the news of our snazzy re-brand, we mentioned that a major expansion would be occuring on the Ossett Brewery site......well we are now ready to share the details and give you more of an idea about this exciting new project!! The current brewery which produces the core Ossett range will be able to extend capacity by the construction of a brand new cold storage warehouse. It's The Ossett Tap's Ten Year Anniversary!!! Join in us celebrating on Sunday 28th May from 12Noon. There will be a Brass Band at 12Noon and live music from Linzi Brian at 3PM and The Snapp from 5PM... and to top it off BBQ food will be available throughtout the day! It may be our anniversary but this day is not all about us. We will be organising raffle prizes in aid of the fantastic Forget Me Not Children's Hospice. So please join us for a day of great music, food and company whilst helping us raise money for a great cause. We look forward to seeing you all there!

Treacle Stout (5% ABV) is awarded Silver in SIBA's Independent Beer Awards within the Region Beer Competition 2016 category... The award is open to porters, stouts, old ales, strong miles and strong brown ales.
The brewery is proud to sponsor a number of Cricket Clubs for the 2015 season particularly as we’re also supporting Yorkshire cricketer, Richard Pyrah, for his benefit year. Our 4% golden beer ‘Pyrah’ has been tremendously well received by the cricket fraternity. The Pyrah beer has been sold at Richard Pyrahs’s events and numerous Cricket Clubs across Yorkshire and beyond. We will present Richard and his beneficiary charities with a cheque at the end of the season based on the brewery giving 10p from every pint of Pyrah sold. Yorkshire County Cricketer Rich Pyrah asked us to brew a beer to celebrate his Benefit (testimonial) Year. We obliged with an easy drinking pale golden brew hopped with refreshing American Cascade hops and named after Richard. As Richard commenced his career at Ossett Cricket Club we thought that would be a fitting venue for the official beer launch. We are proud to launch a new beer to support Yorkshire County cricketer Richard Pyrah’s benefit year. Richard is an Ossett born lad who commenced his career at Ossett Cricket Club and has since proved an invaluable asset to Yorkshire in both Twenty20 ad County matches! The Old Vic on Manor Road, Ossett is once again having a weekend featuring beers from all of the Breweries in the Wakefield District. From teatime on Thursday 20th November to Sunday 23rd November all 10 local breweries will be represented.
