A Year of Celebration: announcing our 2018 Beer Festivals

Call us old fashioned, but as we go to considerable lengths to brew quality beer, we quite like people to drink it. With a pub estate now stretching to 25 establishments and a burgeoning retail trade to wholesale partners and direct deliveries, you’d think that would be enough, but no, we don’t just like to brew, sell and drink beer – yep, we like the odd drop ourselves too – we like to celebrate it as well.

The concept of beer festivals is nothing new of course, but the real ale revolution has seen an insatiable thirst for the gathering of like-minded souls to raise a glass to their favourite tipple in fine style. And if that sounds a bit similar to your regular night down the pub, then let me assure you the humble beer festival is far more than just that.

Festival season for Ossett Brewery stretches from May to October and we have just put the finishing touches to our 2018 calendar.

Brewing beer is one thing, but we would be nothing without the community spirit and social bonhomie that comes with drinking it with friends, family and people you only ever see in the pub but always have a chat with. Beer festivals are a fun-loving extension to this; allowing you to try a selection of new beers you may never have seen before, to tempt your palate with new flavours, to hear great live music, and to enjoy all this in a special atmosphere with people who are all there for the same reason.

Here is a quick rundown of the 19 beer festivals so far confirmed for 2018, where we will be showcasing all of our beers and inviting plenty of other local breweries along too:

Add in the regular Wharfest events in the Granary Wharf area of Leeds, where our collective of three bars The Hop, Candlebar and Archie’s celebrate live music, and you have a full calendar of events for 2018.

With many spread out over three days, you can see that there is a huge amount of planning goes into each event, but this also gives you a full opportunity to taste what’s on offer, and as well as tasting new beers you might also take a liking to a new pub venue you’ve never visited before. So it’s definitely worth the effort, and now you can plan your year ahead.

A beer festival is nothing without people, so we can’t wait to see you there.
