Job Alert: Brewer
We are looking to recruit a dedicated and experienced Brewer to work at our production and packaging facility in Ossett, West Yorkshire
You will need to have in depth knowledge and experience in the production of wort, its fermentation, conditioning, and finishing to ensure it is in line with quality control and production targets, whilst maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout our SALSA accredited brewery at all times. The successful candidate will be keen and enthusiastic and have a thorough understanding of the brewing process, equipment and techniques.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Ensure all raw materials and equipment be ready and available to facilitate work
Wort production
Carry out daily brewhouse, housekeeping and cellaring duties
Fermentation management, monitor gravities and adjust temperature to ensure fermentation profiles are adhered to
Dry-hopping and yeast management
Ensure beer is in specification for packaging
Carry out CIP’s on tanks, hoses, and equipment
Measuring dissolved gases (CO2s/DOs)
Maintain accurate records and enter all relevant data into our brewery software
Attending trade shows and Meet the Brewer events as required
Assist others where needed
Skills Required:
At least two years experience in a medium to large brewery
Ability to work well in a team
Hard working
Positive and committed attitude
Happy to work flexibly to achieve business goals and keen to make improvements
IBD General Certificate in Brewing, Food Science or Chemical Engineering degree or equivalent or studying towards
Willing and able to work unsocial hours (early/late shifts) and occasional weekends
Right to work in the UK
