NAME THE BEER COMPETITION RESULTS We have a winner!  We received almost two hundred entries, from as far away as Australia, for our competition to name the special Ossett Brewery beer for the Festival.  The standard was very high and it was a difficult decision to make.  Eventually, though, the choice was made and our winner is: SHEPLEY HIGGLER From Lee Southern For those unfamiliar with the term, a higgler is a generic term for a pedlar, but a SHEPLEY HIGGLER was more specific and a big part of the village’s history.  He was one of a large number (45 at one time in.. Name the Shepley Spring Festival Ale... This year we have partnered with Shepley Spring Festival to supply their Beer Festival Tent. As well as festuring 20+ beers from our breweries we are brewing two exclusive beers: The first, Shepley Spring Festival Ale, is a pale, hoppy session beer brewed by the wonderful Rat Brewery from Huddersfield.  The second beer from Ossett Brewery, is a traditional bitter at 4.0% abv, but it has yet to be given a name...    And that’s where you come in… The Festival and Ossett Brewery are running a competition to name the bee..
